Hazel Tomlinson

Former Fellow 2022

Hazel Tomlinson is a multidisciplinary artist and FSA 2022 Curatorial and Public Relations Fellow, whose practice revolves around performance art and sculpture.

Recently settled in New York from the UK, Tomlinson is currently gaining experience in the professional art world with the aim of fine tuning her various creative interests. Exploring socio-political themes through her art making, she was drawn to FSA for its parallel mission highlighting artists often marginalized for their spiritual and religious commitments.

Earning a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins with honors in 2021, she received the CSM Dean’s Award for her performance piece, Catflap Pedicure, while also completing a study abroad program at the Universität der Künste Berlin. During her final year of university, she co-founded the short term gallery A Room With No View as an alternative way of exhibiting work during the pandemic. She has shown in the UK, Berlin, and New York — most notably at The National Gallery in London with her performance piece Speaking in Tongues; Pillow Talk.
