Alfonse Borysewicz
Artist Alfonse Borysewicz was born in Detroit and lives and works in Brooklyn. He received his B.A. from Sacred Heart Seminary and M.A. from St. John’s Provincial Seminary before attending the Studio School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Borysewicz’s paintings and installations often take inspiration from Catholic tradition and iconography. In addition to galleries from New York to Tokyo, his works have been shown in churches, monasteries and seminaries. He is the recipient of fellowships from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation and the Guggenheim Foundation,and has been featured in publications including The New York Times and Art in America.
