Known as the Holy City, Charleston is widely acclaimed as one of America’s top small cities, with a lively cultural scene, a remarkably well-preserved built environment, and a multi-layered history. We encourage those in residency to engage with the larger community, as we are happy to facilitate structured interactions with local arts and religious institutions. These might take the form of artist-in-residences, public talks and workshops, or other personal endeavors.  

Alongside these structured residencies, we offer the opportunity for more informal stays for those who seek a quiet, contemplative space to work on specific projects over a short time period, whether as individuals or in a “creative pod” of two to four people.
